3. Speak to a clinician
Your results are reviewed before your consultation. We’ll explain what they mean in plain English, discuss your symptoms and medical history, and talk you through the options available to you.
4. Receive your written treatment plan
If treatment is clinically appropriate, you’ll receive a written plan. You’ll know what has been recommended, your dose, what to expect and when we’ll review you again.
5. Stay properly monitored
Hormone treatment shouldn’t be prescribed and forgotten about. Your care includes scheduled reviews and repeat blood tests so we can see how you’re responding. Where appropriate, your treatment can then be adjusted against your results and clinical response.

The bioidentical HRT we prescribe is compounded by a specialist pharmacy and is not licensed by the MHRA. Licensed body-identical HRT is also available, and your clinician will explain all of your options, including licensed medicines, so you can make an informed choice.

Who prescribes and oversees my treatment?

Is bioidentical HRT available on the NHS?
Licensed HRT, including body-identical options, is available on the NHS. BioID Health prescribes compounded bioidentical preparations privately, and your clinician will explain the differences so you can decide what’s right for you.

Is bioidentical HRT safe?
The bioidentical HRT we prescribe is compounded and is not licensed by the MHRA, so its safety and effectiveness haven’t been assessed in the same way as licensed HRT. NICE advises that the safety and effectiveness of compounded preparations are unknown. That’s why we only prescribe after a medical assessment and blood test, monitor you throughout treatment, and explain all of your options, including licensed HRT, before you decide.
