Elaine has 37 years extensive and varied NHS experience Her nursing career began on the Wirral at the Wirral School of Nursing from where she qualified as a RN in 1989.

Once qualified Elaine furthered her career at Wirral University Hospital Trust, where she specialised in Elective surgery / day surgery and preoperative assessment and her experience includes a secondment into hospital / Directorate Management for 3 years whilst leading a project for streamlining elective patient services to make the journey more efficient and giving her patients a better-quality elective surgery journey.  This resulted in Elaine and her team both being awarded Foundation Trust awards for excellence in patient quality improvements. In 2012 Elaine returned to study at Riverside Campus Chester University where she attained her Independent nurse prescriber qualification and has worked as a Nurse Consultant since, both in the NHS and the private sector. She is also a qualified teacher and assessor for junior medical staff.
